Job Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises management of team members in the skilled nursing center.
- Implements and monitors systems for consistent delivery of quality guest/resident services.
- Implements staffing and scheduling patterns for continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
- Assesses and monitors the clinical setting for effective and safe guest/resident care.
- Facilitates effective communication between cross-functional teams.
- Maintains communication with guests'/residents' physicians and families.
- Identifies ongoing needs of guests/residents to maintain quality standards.
- Ensures proper utilization of the Resident Care Plan by team members.
- Facilitates relationships with Hospice, Therapy, and other providers.
- Participates in community awareness activities and relationship development.
- Counsels guests/residents and families during transitional care periods.
- Strives for excellent quality care and service delivery measuring success in the Quality Services Review process.
- Researches and documents incidents of abuse, neglect, and develops correction plans.
- Ensures Quality Improvement meetings are occurring and may act as Chairperson.
- Reviews and develops plans of correction for pharmacy consultants' concerns.
- Regularly monitors residents' medication profiles and treatment processes.
- Acts as liaison with pharmacy to ensure effective services.
- Develops knowledge of federal and state regulations for resident care and services.
- Completes and submits all monthly and quarterly reports timely.
- Assists in the presentation and value of Sunrise's products for residents and families.
- Understands and manages the department budget.
- Coordinates with community team for staff economies and training.
- Manages recruitments, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining of department staff.
- Achieves team member engagement goals and leads improvement planning sessions.
- Conducts performance appraisals and documents corrective actions.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse license
- Experience in nurse management within skilled nursing
- Knowledge of nursing practices and state regulations
- Proficiency in Medicare and MDS/RAI
- Organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience as a Clinical Supervisor
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- Experience in budgeting
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in a nurse management position within a skilled nursing environment.
Education: Graduate of approved college/school of nursing.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse license
Schedule:
- Available for weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
