Job Responsibilities
- Utilize healthcare background to collaborate with clinicians in designing and optimizing healthcare applications.
- Analyze assessment data to identify diagnoses, problems, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Incorporate current statutes, rules, and regulatory requirements when planning workflow processes.
- Act as a liaison and represent clinical members in all project initiatives.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and process improvement teams to identify potential uses of information systems.
- Support the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes.
- Collaborate with the education department to develop training plans.
- Facilitate and attend meetings, serving as an advisor and coordinating champion participation.
- Distinguish between training, workflow, or system issues and escalate/report issues appropriately.
- Contribute to departmental productivity and efficient operation through skills transfer and continued professional growth.
- Cultivate good working relationships with staff, management, physicians, and executives.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Strong understanding of clinical workflow processes.
- Experience/knowledge of clinical application implementation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical approach to technical and user problems.
Preferred Skills
- Cerner experience.
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Information Technology.
- Informatics Certification.
- Previous participation or leadership with a hospital committee.
- Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant Healthcare Informatics experience and 3 years of healthcare related clinical experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or other allied health.
License & Certification:
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
