Position: Senior Instructional Support Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $92,856 - $109,242 / year

Shift: Irregular hours due to project deadlines

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize healthcare background to collaborate with clinicians in designing and optimizing healthcare applications.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify diagnoses, problems, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Incorporate current statutes, rules, and regulatory requirements when planning workflow processes.
  • Act as a liaison and represent clinical members in all project initiatives.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and process improvement teams to identify potential uses of information systems.
  • Support the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the education department to develop training plans.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings, serving as an advisor and coordinating champion participation.
  • Distinguish between training, workflow, or system issues and escalate/report issues appropriately.
  • Contribute to departmental productivity and efficient operation through skills transfer and continued professional growth.
  • Cultivate good working relationships with staff, management, physicians, and executives.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflow processes.
  • Experience/knowledge of clinical application implementation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical approach to technical and user problems.

Preferred Skills

  • Cerner experience.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Information Technology.
  • Informatics Certification.
  • Previous participation or leadership with a hospital committee.
  • Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant Healthcare Informatics experience and 3 years of healthcare related clinical experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or other allied health.

License & Certification:

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
