Job Responsibilities
- Directs treatment and care of surgical patients.
- Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Records patient symptoms, administers medications, and assists with patient rehabilitation.
- Educates patients and family members about medical conditions and provides emotional support.
- Ensures effective hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
- Proactively develops positive employee relations programs.
- Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
- Oversees staff schedules to meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
- Evaluates work performance of all personnel and determines wage increases.
- Implements discipline according to policy.
- Oversees development and delivery of training, certification, and education programs.
- Assists Director of Nursing and ASC Coordinator in preparing staff for inspection surveys.
- Reviews and reinforces important standards previously cited.
- Provides direct patient care during pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods.
- Collaborates with medical staff and other departments for coordinated patient care.
- Adheres to compliance standards and organization philosophies.
- Establishes a compassionate environment and provides emotional support.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Monitors ASC processes for compliance with organization policies and regulatory agencies.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Indiana
- Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Experience in surgical services

Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one year related work experience in surgical services preferred.
Education: BS/BSN degree is required.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse license in Indiana
- Current certification in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
