Job Responsibilities
- Direct treatment and care of surgical patients.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Record patient symptoms and administer medications.
- Assist with patient rehabilitation.
- Educate patients and family members about medical conditions.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Work within the surgical team to provide care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Ensure effective hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
- Develop positive employee relations programs.
- Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
- Oversee staff schedules to meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate work performance of personnel and assist in wage increase determinations.
- Implement discipline according to policy.
- Supervise development and delivery of training, certification, and education programs.
- Assist Director of Nursing and ASC Coordinator in preparing staff for inspection surveys.
- Provide direct patient care during pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments for patient care coordination.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to compliance standards.
- Establish a compassionate environment for patients and families.
- Maintain safe and clean working environments.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and procedures.
- Protect patient and staff by following medication administration and storage procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policy.
- Monitor ASC processes for compliance with organization policies and relevant regulations.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse with current license
- Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Experience in surgical services

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one-year related work experience in surgical services preferred.
Education: BS/BSN degree required.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
