- Direct the daily functions of the Nursing Unit in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing long term care facilities.
- Ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to residents.
- Develop the clinical skills of the clinical team.

- Knowledge of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing practices
- Understanding of medical practices and procedures
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care
