Job Title: Trauma Level 1-Adult Performance Improvement Coordinator

Position: Performance Improvement Coordinator for Trauma Patient Safety

Job Type: Full Time

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the quality of trauma care from the prehospital setting to hospital discharge.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Program (PIPS).
  • Collect, analyze, trend, and benchmark data and outcomes related to trauma care.
  • Participate in trauma registry data collection and validations.
  • Collaborate with trauma program leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain secure documentation of all performance improvement activities.
  • Develop action plans for process improvement and ensure follow through.
  • Assist in providing trauma-related education programs for healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate trauma education programs including TNCC and RTTDC.
  • Participate in organizational-wide continuous improvement projects related to trauma.
  • Represent JMMTC and WVU Medicine in various regional, state, and national forums.
  • Document all performance improvement activities and prepare for monthly Trauma PIPS Committee meetings.
  • Supervise data validation efforts to ensure reliability related to PIPS activities.
  • Assist with developing interdisciplinary clinical protocols with medical director and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN®)

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of three years in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care nursing or Trauma Specialty Nursing.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

License & Certification:

  • Current unencumbered licensure with the West Virginia Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
