Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
Ensure that the operating room environment is safe.
Ensure that equipment functions properly.
Conduct operative procedures under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Possess expertise in sterile and aseptic technique.
Combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to aid physicians.

Experience: Entry level; has graduated from an accredited school in an Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technologist (ST) program.

Education: Associate Degree in Surgical Technologist.

License & Certification:

Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Certification in The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
