Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process.
Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
Performs initial physiological needs assessment on patients upon admission and shift psychosocial needs assessment during each shift.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Prepares, administers, assesses, and documents the effectiveness of medication administration.
Evaluates patient response to all procedures and interventions carried out both physically and psychologically.
Assesses patient's psychological response to hospitalization and diagnosis each shift.
Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Experience:

Education: Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required
