Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric, and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process.
- Assess mental health needs and develop nursing diagnoses.
- Identify outcomes, plan, and evaluate nursing care.
- Administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician.
- Ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
- Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors.
- Direct milieu management.
- Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
- Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
- Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Psychiatric nursing experience
- CPR Certification
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year related experience required.
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred.
License & Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- Current CPR Certification
Schedule:
- Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
- Rotating Weekends Required
