Job Responsibilities
- Provide high quality, comprehensive, professional clinical care to patients according to established standards, protocols and practices.
- Provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative environment.
- Take medical history, assess medical conditions, and interpret findings.
- Communicate effectively with patients, peers, and other stakeholders both orally and in writing.
- Maintain timely, thorough and accurate written clinical documentation.
- Make evidence-based clinical decisions and comply with department and organizational quality measures.
- Use electronic health record and other computer systems.
- Coordinate patient care with team members, other departments, and community agencies/providers as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program specializing in pediatric medicine
- Valid State of Connecticut licensure
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Proficiency in electronic health records
Preferred Skills
- APRN License in the state of Connecticut
- Spanish speaking
- 1 year of APRN experience
- 3+ years' experience working in an ambulatory setting or providing urgent care
Requirements
Experience: 1 year as APRN (preferred), 3+ years in ambulatory setting or urgent care (preferred)
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and completed an approved nurse practitioner program
License & Certification:
- APRN License in the state of Connecticut
