Evaluate, prioritize, and supervise patient care and unit needs during assigned shift.
Serve as designee for unit matters in the absence of the nurse manager/director.
Make assignments for staff to meet patient care needs.
Monitor effectiveness and completion of unit assignments.
Demonstrate timely and effective communication skills in daily interactions with team members.
Seek to proactively improve the quality of services provided and patient care outcomes.
Serve as unit champion for quality and patient safety initiatives.
Role model exceptional customer service and facilitate service recovery efforts.
Assist in the personal and professional development of staff through training and role modeling.
Troubleshoot issues that arise and keep the nurse manager/director informed.
Take patient care assignments and serve in other roles as needed.
Represent the unit or nursing department on committees or task forces as assigned.
Reinforce the organization's vision, mission, and values through role model behavior.

Experience: Must have functioned in an RN role for a minimum of 1 year; 1 year of ICU experience required (prefer Neuro ICU experience).

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred but not required.

License & Certification:

Valid current Arizona Nursing License
Clinical specialty certification required within 3 years from ANCC or other approved credentialing entity.
