Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct functions associated with the assigned department under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Ensure department compliance with hospital philosophy, policies, procedures, goals, and budget.
  • Maintain high patient and employee satisfaction scores.
  • Assure nursing staff compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and hospital standards.
  • Serve as a role model for professional and nursing practice.
  • Ensure fiscal functions of the department comply with accepted accounting practices.
  • Protect the integrity of information pertaining to patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Project a professional demeanor while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Lead and direct the work of nursing staff.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and quality improvement processes
  • Experience in budgeting and personnel management
  • Critical thinking and analytic skills

Preferred Skills

  • Evidence of continuing education related to the job specification
  • Previous nursing leadership or management experience

Requirements

Experience: Five years of relatable nursing experience required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

License & Certification:

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho
  • Current AHA BLS
  • ACLS and PALS Certification within 6 months of employment
