Job Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care and treatment to clients/patients according to policies and procedures.
- Assists the supervisor with day-to-day functions of the Ambulatory Care Unit.
- Evaluates the nursing needs of patients and develops nursing care plans.
- Schedules daily nursing assignments and modifies them as needed.
- Delegates duties to appropriate personnel while working under the direction of the Supervisory Nurse Specialist.
- Guides three or more employees and provides direction to ancillary departments and other healthcare providers.
- Communicates the organization's strategic plan and integrates it into the team's strategies and goals.
- Assists in formulating nursing schedules and coaches the team on problem-solving methods.
- Leads the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload among employees.
- Trains team members in team building and administrative training necessary for tasks.
- Monitors and reports on the status of work, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and progress.
- Represents the team in discussions with the supervisor regarding resources and issues affecting work.
- Approves emergency leave for medical appointments and resolves informal employee complaints.
- Accountable for monitoring all aspects of patient care and documenting nursing interventions.
- Serves as a clinical nurse providing specialized nursing duties to patients.
- Assesses patient conditions and collaborates with physicians to determine care needs.
- Participates in developing, updating, and evaluating standards of care and quality improvement monitoring.
- Coordinates support for patients and families in social, emotional, and physical aspects.
- Maintains proficiency through continuing education and mandatory training.

Requirements
Experience: Two years of nursing experience working in an ambulatory care setting
Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state-accrediting agency
License & Certification:
- Active, current, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse
- CPR and AED certification
- Tuberculosis screening or negative chest x-ray
- Proof of hepatitis B immunity
