Job Responsibilities

  • Provides work direction to clinical and support staff for coordination of resources to support procedures and day-to-day operations.
  • Performs the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care through assessment, care plan implementation, and evaluation of clinical outcomes.
  • Promotes a safe environment for quality patient care through daily patient rounding.
  • Coordinates patient care team needs, initiates service complaint follow-ups, and promotes communication among patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Acts as a resource for employees, training and orienting them, and giving input on performance.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews work progress and accuracy, directing efforts on complex issues in collaboration with unit leadership.
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities including interviewing, selection of new employees, and resolution of employee concerns.
  • Monitors employee assignments and adjusts staffing levels to maintain productivity.
  • Monitors quality of care provided, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provides input to budgeting and ensures adequate supplies and equipment are available.
  • Works with management to develop new and existing programs and services.
  • Coordinates with vendors for product requests and provides in-services for equipment.
  • Participates in product trials and submits recommendations to management.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care based on the patient's status and needs.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
