Provide hands-on assistance according to department, patient and provider needs.
Assist with procedures, perform tests, prepare or administer patient medications, and obtain specimens.
Act as first contact for patients, providing triaging and medical advice where applicable.
Coordinate the plan of care and act as a liaison between providers, departments, other healthcare professionals, and schedulers.
Monitor and manage patient’s appointments, testing, and labs necessary for the patient population.
Assist with obtaining prior authorizations for the patient population.
Prepare educational material for patient use.
Educate and counsel patients concerning medical condition, medication or treatment.
Provide specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable.
Provide advice, education, and consultation services to nursing staff of any unit that cares for the same patient population.
Attend conferences or educational opportunities to ensure up-to-date knowledge.

Current licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board as a registered professional nurse
Basic Life Support certification
Two years’ experience as an RN or five years’ experience as an LPN

Experience: Two years’ experience as an RN or five years’ experience as an LPN required.

Education: Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
