Job Responsibilities
- Assists with patient admission, transfer or discharge as assigned.
- Performs activities of daily living and safely operates patient care equipment.
- Promotes skin integrity and safety measures.
- Documents patient information in EHR (such as vital signs, nursing care provided, intake and output).
- Acts as a patient/family advocate by providing comfort, assistance, and information.
- Provides feedback to RN or LPN on patient care and condition as directed.
- Demonstrates a commitment to UI Health values through teamwork and effective communication.
- Participates in organizational, departmental, and shared leadership activities.
- Supports department and unit goals in daily behavior.
- Identifies recurring clinical practice and/or related unit problems and participates in problem solving.
- Collaborates with other staff to provide positive learning experiences for staff and students.
- Takes responsibility for continued professional growth/development.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- CNA license from an accredited institution
Preferred Skills
- Prior Operating Room experience
