Assist with the provision of safe and effective nursing care in the operating room.
Perform direct patient care and observation.
Scrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field.
Turnover the surgical room between cases.
Collect and record pertinent clinical data in the medical record.
Collaborate consistently with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision making.
Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role.
Prepare the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained when handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
Dispose of trash and linens, and clean equipment and environmental surfaces during turnover of the O.R. suites.
Prepare the procedure room for use the following day by setting up equipment and reporting needed items to the supervisor.

Experience: One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center).

Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
