Job Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care and services to patients and families.
- Delegates nursing care according to legal and regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
- Utilizes reasonable judgment in carrying out prescribed medical orders of a practitioner.
- Functions as primary nurse and total patient caregiver.
- Serves as resource nurse and preceptor.
- Acts as charge nurse as assigned.
- Practices professional nursing and delegates nursing tasks to nursing assistive personnel.
- Utilizes nursing process to deliver care.
- Performs nursing tasks requiring nursing knowledge, judgment, and skill.
- Administers medications and may administer intradermal local anesthetic for IV placement.
- Teaches LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care.
- Verifies staff competency to perform special tasks.
- Responsible and accountable for quality of nursing rendered and adequacy of care provided.
- Performs administrative duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
- May perform patient care to maintain clinical expertise and competency.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of Mother Baby experience OR completion of formal course in area of specialty.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 12 months of hire
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
