Job Responsibilities

  • Perform various activities in the treatment and care of patients, including routine hygiene care.
  • Assist with ingestion of food and fluids.
  • Assist with elimination of body wastes.
  • Assist with mobilization and dressing/undressing.
  • Perform and record routine technical tasks, such as collecting routine specimens and taking vital signs.
  • Collect and record intake and output and blood glucose.
  • Give suppositories and perform intermittent catheterization.
  • Measure bladder volume and hang gastric feedings.
  • Escort patients.
  • Collect and report pertinent physiological, psychological, and functional data based on patient plan of care or patient need.
  • Orient the patient and family to the environment, therapeutic activities, and potential safety hazards.
  • Incorporate factors related to safety into delivery of patient care as directed by the registered nurse.
  • Implement interventions consistent with the plan of care as directed by a registered nurse.
  • Observe patients and report reactions or changes in patient condition to registered nurse.
  • Assist in transferring patients and patient care equipment to other specified areas.
  • Document functional care, procedures, and other quantitative values in nursing database.
  • Assist in monitoring supply needs to ensure adequate inventory at bedside.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of SRAlab.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
  • Demonstrates competency in applying the principles of growth and development for various patient age groups.
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.
  • Critical thinking skills and sound judgment to monitor and respond to patient needs.

Preferred Skills

  • Willingness to adapt to changing work demands and work environment.
  • Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Anticipate, assess, and address the needs of patients and customers.

Requirements

Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

License & Certification:

  • CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
