Job Responsibilities
- Engages staff in decision making via shared governance processes.
- Partners with others to promote patient-centered care and service excellence.
- Supports the nurse manager as his/her designee.
- Provides evolving leadership and management skills for specific business/clinical unit(s).
- Represents the organization positively to the community.
- Serves as a resource for all staff and accepts additional responsibilities in the nurse manager's absence.
- Assists with budget development and supports monitoring and meeting fiscal outcomes.
- Applies lean and other quality skills to reduce waste and improve performance of operations and clinical systems of care.
- Effectively communicates to diverse workforce.
- Mentors others while learning necessary skills for nursing management.
- Creates growth opportunities for self and staff.
- Ensures a healthy, safe, desirable workplace for staff retention and recruitment.
- Promotes staff competency in clinical care delivery.
- Ensures compliance with corporate standards and professional ethics.
- Employs change management strategies and explores new knowledge.
- Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research.
- Identifies areas for performance improvement of staff and clinical systems.
- Acts as a role model for professional nursing practice and leadership.

- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
