Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Postpartum/Couplet setting.
  • Develop assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patients' clinical conditions, including fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies.
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all areas of Maternal Child health.
  • Assist physicians with procedures in Postpartum care and the Newborn Nursery.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
  • Demonstrate an ability to act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License
  • Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) certification
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
  • Fetal Monitoring certification

Preferred Skills

  • One or more years of recent Postpartum/Newborn Nursery experience
