Observes and reports all patient concerns or changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge, and general patient care duties.
Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
Records oral intake and outputs, including temperature and blood pressure.
Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
Maintains a clean and safe environment to help prevent and control infections.
Reports necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel according to departmental procedures in a timely manner.
Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.
Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or lack of understanding of diet changes.
Assists department with administrative tasks to support department operations.
Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
