Collect pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
Analyze the assessment data to determine actual and potential diagnoses or issues.
Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan for the healthcare consumer.
Develop and modify a plan of care that prescribes strategies to attain expected outcomes.
Implement the identified plan.
Coordinate care delivery and transitions in care.
Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Engage in professional role activities, including leadership appropriate to education and position.
Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders.
Lead within the professional practice setting.
Seek knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.

Experience: Foundational job description for all RNs; encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
