Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
  • Work administratively under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager.
  • Perform healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors.
  • Provide health care services for persons of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and pregnant females.
  • Assist in care delivery in various settings such as field, soft-sided facility, or secure detention facility.
  • Consult with the Supervising Physician for complex medical, pediatric, or psychiatric patients.
  • Perform history and physical assessments, behavioral health care, minor outpatient procedures, and patient education.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy of medical records, complying with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in disease surveillance activities and public health studies as needed.
  • Comply with DHS and CBP policies and any accreditation standards that may apply.
  • Communicate an end of shift report to the oncoming shift.
  • Participate in Medical Quality Management/Quality Assurance/Risk Management activities.
  • Provide emergency care until Emergency Medical Services arrive.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from a US-based accredited Nurse Practitioner training program.

License & Certification:

  • Current, active, valid, unencumbered license/registration/certification to practice healthcare as an NP.
  • Board Certification by ANCC, AANP, PCNB, NCC, AANPCB, or AACN.
  • Current valid BLS certification.

Schedule:

  • Must be willing to work day, night, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
