Job Responsibilities
- Oversee 24-hour operational responsibility for patient care delivery and quality in designated area(s).
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and participate in committees representing the unit and Nursing positively.
- Develop and implement performance initiatives to ensure optimal patient safety, outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Manage daily work activities of staff, ensuring quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Guide staff, responsible for staffing, budget compliance, and staffing decisions including hiring and termination.
- Coach and counsel employees on performance and assist in developing and implementing policies for a safe work environment.
- Facilitate and promote effective team dynamics and teambuilding strategies.
- Establish two-way communication with staff, demonstrating active listening and acknowledging feedback.
- Drive department service standards and high customer/patient satisfaction through role modeling accountability.
- Monitor department safety plans according to accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
- Use information systems for enhancing operations and supporting performance improvement functions.
- Develop staffing plans to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements
Experience: Three years in nursing, one year in a progressive leadership role in healthcare.
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing.
License & Certification:
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification (within 1 year)
