Administers nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor.
Takes patient history and performs initial physical evaluation of patient's condition.
Provides basic medical care including changing bandages, administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens.
Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.
Utilizes the nursing process to adapt interventions to meet age-appropriate care needs.
Implements and evaluates care interventions, delegates appropriately, and ensures documentation of interventions.
Evaluates progress towards the prescribed plan of care and coordinates care with clinic providers.
Educates patients and families regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.
Ensures superior ongoing patient satisfaction and customer service.
Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.
Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing, and continuing education.
Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Maintains a clean and safe environment.
May be required to work in other clinic environments according to distribution of staff and patient loads.
Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program and policies.
Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to assess a patient’s condition and formulate a plan of care.
Ability to handle emergency high-stress situations.
Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration.
Ability to communicate clearly and positively interact with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
Computer knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic records.

Experience in ambulatory clinic nursing preferred.
Knowledge of developmental stages and application of developmental theories/concepts when planning care.
Continued education requirements and certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR).
