Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and capture workload credits, develop reporting procedures, and participate in Performance Improvement activities aimed at improving patient care access and PACT/Specialty team processes.
- Enter/review orders and sequence of procedures based on the patient's condition.
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex problems according to nursing standards and Medical Center policy and procedure.
- Check patients into the clinic and document intake data per policy.
- Provide high quality nursing care using traditional and non-traditional modalities, including triage prior to provider visits, nurse health maintenance visits, and telephone triage.
- Perform clinical pertinence reviews to ensure compliance with nursing practice standards.
- Promptly recognize and effectively intervene in urgent or emergent situations.
- Prepare, administer and document medications and immunizations as directed.
- Assess and report vital signs, neurological signs, weight, and blood glucose levels.
- Triage and prioritize patient needs as routine, urgent, or emergent.
- Serve as a resource for complex/specialized procedures.
- Educate patients/families about preparation for procedures and health promotion.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Communicate professionally with patients, personnel, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality.
- Initiate consults per PACT and/or Specialty Expanded scope of practice.

Requirements
Experience: Completion of at least one (1) year of qualifying experience at the GS-5 level or equivalent.
Education: Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing.
License & Certification:
- Full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse.
Schedule:
COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required.
