Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques that are listed in the department/unit skills list.
- Provides patient care according to the Nursing Process under the direction of the RN.
- Performs treatments and procedures in compliance with hospital/nursing policies and procedures under the direction of the RN.
- Administers medication according to hospital/nursing procedures.
- Assists in admitting patients by orienting them to the hospital routine in a sincere and helpful manner.
- Promptly and courteously responds to any patient call light.
- Maintains patient rooms and department work areas in a neat, clean, and well-supplied manner.
- Assists the RN in patient teaching.
- Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of patient equipment.
- Recognizes life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes appropriate actions.
- Participates in the implementation and monitoring of unit-based Quality Assurance standards of care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the framework of licensure.
