Position: Leadership role responsible for strategic planning in clinical programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads nursing practice to enhance patient experience using the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care.
  • Demonstrates and validates proficiency in Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) among staff.
  • Synthesizes feedback regarding patient experience and staff engagement to develop action plans.
  • Follows up on patient concerns in a timely manner and provides necessary service recovery.
  • Designs and supports a safe, therapeutic patient-centered care environment.
  • Investigates operational variances and develops corrective action plans.
  • Communicates unit progress and compliance with quality and safety metrics.
  • Mentors Associate Directors and Clinical Nurse Managers on safety and compliance.
  • Provides administrative oversight to ensure alignment with department goals.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies including NYS DOH and The Joint Commission.
  • Conducts leadership meetings to ensure communication of progress and compliance.
  • Facilitates organizational change and shared decision-making models.
  • Evaluates and directs the environment of care to support clinical staff.
  • Encourages a culture of scholarship, inquiry, and life-long learning.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master's degree in nursing or health-related specialty required; doctorate preferred.

  • Licensed as a registered nurse in New York State.
