Job Responsibilities
- Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
- Participate in planning and following current resident care plan on all residents under his/her care.
- Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly.
- Observe changes in resident conditions and promptly report them.
- Document accurately and completely.
- Meet personal grooming needs for each resident.
- Promptly answer call lights and assure that all are placed within reach of the resident.
- Assure the resident care areas are left clean and in an orderly manner.
- Maintain that all residents are appropriately identified (i.e., I.D. bracelets, etc.).
- Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accord with orientation and training processes of Athena and your specific job description.
- Other duties assigned by manager.

- Knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and the public
- Willingness to work harmoniously with others
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
- Effective communication skills in emergency situations
Preferred Skills
- CPR certification
- General work experience in long-term care
Requirements
Experience: Previous work experience preferred but not necessary; new graduates welcome
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
License & Certification:
- Certified nursing aide
