Job Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health history
- Record information in electronic health record
- Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans as directed
- Administer medications (including vaccination, IV therapy, oxygen administration)
- Provide comprehensive wound care
- Perform phone and in-person patient triage for clinical concerns
- Assess and monitor patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia
- Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients
- Direct, supervise, and delegate to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and technicians as needed
- Support quality initiatives and compliance with Patient Safety initiatives
- Participate in clinical inquiry and activities to foster evidence-based practice
- Provide emergency care in accordance with organizational policy
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse License in New York
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Knowledge of nursing practice and clinical policies
- Ability to assess and interpret patient information
- Clinical documentation skills
Preferred Skills
- ACLS certification
- Membership in pertinent professional organizations
Requirements
Experience: One year experience required for Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing highly preferred; a Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing requires a minimum of one year experience
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart Association
