Job Responsibilities

Provide Clinical site education to students enrolled at the assigned Workforce Development Program site.
Deliver education in the skills lab and/or clinical setting according to established curriculum and faculty expertise.
Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned healthcare facilities.
Evaluate student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes as per policies and procedures established by Unitek College, Department of Nursing.
Provide timely feedback on clinical performance or specific events after observation.
Maintain accurate student records, including clinical and/or skills lab attendance and completed skills check-off forms.
Ensure clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs.
Determine the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
Continuously improve the quality of instruction.
Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancements to course content/material.
Submit required program reports and forms to the Academic Site Director in a timely manner.
Keep current with innovative technologies and safety regulations.
Participate in committee activities that support the mission and function of the nursing program as needed.
Attend faculty meetings.
Provide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduled office hours, electronic communication, or other methods.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum four-years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care, with at least one year in the last five years.

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in nursing, education, or administration; BSN and currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for Clinical Teaching Assistant.

License & Certification:

Valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
Eligible for approval by CA BRN as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics

Clinical rotations can include days, evenings, weekends, or a combination of all
