Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department on a particular shift.
Ensure the highest practicable level of quality care is maintained.
Assist Director of Nursing in organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing nursing programs and activities.
Develop and implement methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
Implement plans of action to correct deficiencies.
Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charts.
Supervise resident’s care and conduct compliance rounds throughout the day.
Make appropriate documentation.
Conduct tours and obtain essential information for possible admissions.
Inform staff of new admissions and ensure rooms are ready; greet and escort new admissions.
Ensure that equipment, medication, treatment and supplies are available.
Supervise Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurses, LPNs, and Med Tech as applicable.
Assist in counseling, evaluating, and terminating nursing services personnel.
Ensure schedules and work assignments are implemented to ensure adequate staffing.

Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or healthcare-related facility

Experience: At least 3 years of Nurse Management/Supervision experience required
