Job Responsibilities
- Utilizes unique knowledge, skills, and competencies required in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness and restore health.
- Assesses patients’ needs and develops individualized plans of care based on current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients.
- Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and identifies requirements relative to age-specific needs.
- Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care in a knowledgeable and consistent manner.
- Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and the use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit-specific requisite skills.
- Prioritizes patient care in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
- Practices effective problem identification and resolution within the care setting.
- Delegates tasks to healthcare team members based on patient needs and team member capabilities.
- Communicates relevant information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to healthcare team members.
- Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients and their families.
- Integrates patient and family education throughout care delivery.
- Participates in Process Improvement activities as assigned.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and compliance with patient rights and regulatory standards.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with organizational policies.
