Job Responsibilities
- Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
- Observe and report any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, RCAs, and Executive Director per state regulations.
- Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of the Resident Care Assistants.
- Mentor, guide, and direct the Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their job.
- Coordinate care needs with community providers via an effective case management process.
- Balance service demands with supporting resident independence.
- Recognize and assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation and report to appropriate sources per state regulations.
- Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system and know when to call for backup.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current state license as an LPN
- CPR certification
- Experience in nursing care
Preferred Skills
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse
- Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position
Requirements
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience preferred
Education: Graduate of an approved LPN program
License & Certification:
- Current state license as an LPN
- CPR certification
