Job Responsibilities
- Conduct systematic, continuous and comprehensive assessments of patient health status from admission or encounter to discharge across the care continuum.
- Independently administer medications per licensure authority and document administration in a timely manner.
- Plan care in collaboration with patients and families using current scientific knowledge and care standards.
- Identify and prioritize patient problems based on subjective and objective assessment data.
- Implement nursing care interventions to meet patient and family centered healthcare needs.
- Assess, conduct, and evaluate the outcomes of patient and family teaching.
- Evaluate care by performing regular reviews of patient/family responses to interventions.
- Advocate for the patient and family, respecting their rights and preferences.
- Work collaboratively with unlicensed assistive healthcare providers while assuring safe patient care delivery.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and accountability for actions and outcomes.
- Orient new members of the healthcare team and supervise students.
- Act as relief charge nurse when the unit need arises.
- Participate in evidence-based practice activities and discussion of care outcomes.
- Communicate constructively as a collaborative member of the healthcare team.
- Perform duties in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality of care.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
