Job Title: RN - INPATIENT

Position: Trauma/Surgical ICU Nurse

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $32.84/hr - $47.33/hr, Sign-On Bonus Available & Relocation Assistance Available

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
  • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
  • Participate in orientation; upon successful completion of preceptor training, assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, documenting and communicating clinical findings
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may 'not seem right'

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN License in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement

Preferred Skills

  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty

Requirements

Experience: No minimum experience required

Education: Program Graduate in Nursing

License & Certification:

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider
  • RN License in NM
