Supports, evaluates, prioritizes, and supervises patient care and unit needs during assigned shift.
Serves as designee for unit matters in nurse manager/director absence.
Makes assignments for staff to meet patient care needs and for incoming patients.
Monitors effectiveness and completion of unit assignments.
Evaluates staffing considering the mix of caregivers, patient volumes, patient acuity and staff availability.
Demonstrates timely and effective communication skills in daily interactions with team members and others.
Seeks to proactively improve quality of services provided and patient care outcomes.
Serves as unit champion and resource to staff for quality and patient safety initiatives.
Acts as a role model for exceptional customer service and facilitates service recovery efforts.
Improves job performance of staff by assisting in personal and professional development through preceptor training.
Provides professional/technical/clinical/coaching support for nursing associates.
Troubleshoots issues requiring immediate resolution and keeps nurse manager/director informed.
Serves as representative for unit or nursing department on committees or task forces.
Reinforces the organization vision, mission and values of Carondelet Health Network.

Adapt adaptation to changes in healthcare technology and support others in transition and learning
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required, with 1 year of ICU experience preferred (Neuro ICU experience preferred).

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

License & Certification:

Valid current Arizona Nursing License
Required certification in area of clinical specialty within 3 years from ANCC or other approved credentialing entity
