Shift: 7am-7pm (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track

Job Responsibilities

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Provides virtual and bedside nursing to assigned patients.
Monitors and cares for patients.
Communicates patient care information to the bedside RN.
Acts as a knowledge resource to the bedside RN.
May provide medication reconciliation.
Completes procedure checklists.
Provides second nurse sign off for meds/skin checks.
Contacts families and answers questions for the patient and/or family.
Performs patient/family education and discharge planning.
Documents patient interactions via EPIC.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Knowledge of physical and psychological needs of patients
Ability to respond appropriately to patient needs

Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing
A minimum of two years of bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Requirements

Experience: A minimum of two years of bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Education: Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree within five years if Associate Degree is highest held).

License & Certification:

Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of start date
Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within 6 months of start date
