Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessments for infants, children, and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions.
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to manage a cohort of patients.
- Order and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Perform therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status.
- Formulate a family-centered plan of care.
- Document daily activities as necessary.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with other team members.
- Collect and analyze data as necessary.
- Perform any advanced procedures associated with credentialing process DOP.
- Utilize the most up-to-date and evidence-based practices for the plan of care.
- Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, nursing staff, provider team, and other healthcare teams.
- Participate in professional development by maintaining required competencies and seeking educational offerings.
- Act as a preceptor/mentor for new department members.
- Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by reporting concerns and ensuring changes in practice when necessary.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Pediatric experience
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills

- Ability to perform advanced procedures
- Educational skills to train others
Requirements
Experience:
Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an ACEN and/or CCNE accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine
License & Certification:
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- National board certification in area of education or NCCPA certification
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
