Job Responsibilities

Develops, implements, teaches, and evaluates the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program.
Leads simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab.
Responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and must teach at least 36 credits annually.
Designs an effective learning environment that facilitates student learning to address contemporary issues in nursing.
Utilizes an array of assessment tools to evaluate student learning.
Actively participates in the systematic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation, and program revision.
Serves as a mentor to faculty, adjuncts, and students.
Pursues continuous in-service/professional development opportunities annually.
Serves as an advisor to an assigned group of core nursing students; contacting advisees at least once a semester.
Develops student success plans and remediates 'at risk' students.
Oversees instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts.
Facilitates nursing students’ application of theory to clinical practice.
Maintains all records on student performance, including Student Success Plans and evaluations.
Participates in faculty meetings and nursing events.

National certification in area of nursing specialty

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.

Education: Graduate degree required; if the graduate degree is not in nursing, must have a Bachelor’s in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline.

License & Certification:

Current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license
