Job Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of patient care functions as assigned.
- Demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.
- Uphold organization policies and procedures, and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in problem identification and resolution in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
- Prioritize work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Correctly identify patient and scheduled procedure.
- Perform patient care activities considering age-related needs.
- Report unusual findings to the Registered Nurse.
- Collect data and provide information timely to assist in the plan of care.
- Discuss discharge barriers with the Registered Nurse and take intervention as directed.
- Follow hospital standards to customize care for age-related needs.
- Keep healthcare team members informed regarding patient responses.
- Ensure legible, dated, and signed documentation reflecting performed activities.
- Apply standard precautions and maintain a safe environment.
- Observe patient/family conditions and report any changes.
- Transport patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Practice customer service standards and promptly address patient needs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a clean work environment.
- Assist team members and confront conflicts constructively.
- Attend mandatory meetings and engage in professional development.
- Organize work to minimize overtime and assist in system improvements.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience as a Nursing Attendant in an acute hospital or equivalent setting.
Education: State Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent enrollment in an RN or LVN program.
License & Certification:
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant may be required.
Schedule:
- On-Call position, with varying days and hours, 10 shifts a month.
