Job Responsibilities
- Direct clinical nursing services at Children’s Outpatient Program clinic.
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor program contracts, budgets, and staff productivity as directed.
- Ensure compliance with DMH, Joint Commission, and Medicaid standards.
- Ensure compliance with SAMHSA grant and UDS data requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the physician regarding consumers' physical and mental conditions.
- Interface with the multi-disciplinary team and participate in development of the interdisciplinary treatment plan.
- Administer medications while observing the Seven Rights of medication administration.
- Contact laboratories, request and monitor results, and report abnormal findings to the physician.
- Provide emergency care as needed per AltaPointe policy.
- Supervise and oversee MAC services, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Delegation Program.
- Recognize crisis situations and deescalate or resolve them as necessary.
- Act as a MAS nurse for the division.
- Adhere to professional code of ethics.
- Demonstrate application of child/adolescent and adult specific competencies.
- Administer appropriate personnel functions.
- Interview and screen nursing applicants when necessary.
- Provide staff training in facility policies, procedures, and program operations.
- Consistently apply personnel policies and procedures.
- Complete employee performance evaluations on program staff and route to Personnel department.
- Promote the concept of treatment teams.
- Provide consultation and supervision to staff as needed.
- Ensure competence of program nursing staff.
- Seek clinical supervision and consultation as needed.
- Accept and employ suggestions for improvement.
- Document clinical records in a timely and clear manner according to AltaPointe policy.
- Treat consumers with care, dignity, and compassion, respecting their privacy and confidentiality.
- Actively participate in Performance Improvement activities and MMHC committees as required.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and access appropriate community resources for consumers.
- Maintain current state license and requirements for renewals, including CEUs.
