Job Responsibilities

Utilizes different methodologies of teaching to prepare various kinds of learners and fulfill expected student outcomes
Follows institution's policies and procedures as stated in faculty handbook and catalog
Participates in faculty meetings and collaborates with the Director of Nursing in the improvement plan set by the institution
Facilitates learning by delivering a fully assigned teaching load
Supervises students in the clinical setting, as well as Skills/Simulation as needed
Maintains active interest in students and creates a welcoming atmosphere to foster a learning environment
Collaborates with the Clinical Director in placing students in clinical facilities to complete all necessary clinical hours
Assists with clinical preceptorship if applicable
Maintains regular office hours for students
Fosters a supportive educational environment

Required Skills

Core Skills

Expertise in nursing and nursing education
Active and encumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida
Strong teaching abilities and methodologies
Ability to collaborate with faculty and administration
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills

Medical Surgical and Mental Health background
BLS certification from American Heart Association
Experience in preceptorship

Requirements

Experience: Three or more years of teaching experience; Three or more years of clinical experience in specialty he/she is teaching

Education: Master's degree in nursing required

License & Certification:

Active and encumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Florida
Active BLS certification; American Heart Association
