Integrates biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technically competent practice while providing care to clients.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
Coordinates care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to influence care.
Utilizes best practices in the assessment and management of Veterans at risk for suicide.
Maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities and act in the best interest of the patient.
Participates in MH interdisciplinary treatment team, MH Environment of Care rounds, and psychiatric emergencies.
Documents nursing assessments, nursing plan of care, patient safety observations, and environmental safety rounds according to facility policy.
Facilitates shift reports, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psychoeducational groups.
Uses therapeutic communication techniques and practices de-escalation techniques.

Experience: 2-3 years of recent mental health experience and 1 year Acute Care Experience.

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing.

License & Certification:

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth.

Schedule:

COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement.
