Job Responsibilities

Facilitate organizational through-put by evaluating unit staffing and patient placement as needed.
Assess needs for advisory status and measures to reduce/remove the facility from being on advisory.
Organize and schedule after hours, emergent, and weekend surgical cases as needed and notify all necessary staff of procedures.
Serve as incident commander for all internal/external events as the command center is established and additional leadership is notified.
Manage internal staff conflicts that arise when Managers/Directors/Vice Presidents are not present on site.
Ensure EMTALA guidelines are followed for patient transfers.
Assess and monitor safety concerns within the organization.
Escalate concerns that increase the liability of the hospital to the Administrator on call.
Serve as an example for all staff in regards to professional behaviors and conflict management.

Requirements

Experience: 2-5 years of nursing experience, with 2 years of charge nurse or leadership experience within last 5 years.

Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

License & Certification:

Active RN license in state of residence
Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to start date
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
