Job Responsibilities

Assess health status utilizing advanced physical examination and medical history skills.
Design individualized health care management plans in collaboration with other health professionals.
Manage health care within protocols mutually agreed upon by physician and team members.
Identify abnormal findings early and initiate appropriate intervention.
Assess and provide support for the cultural, psychosocial, language, and physically challenged needs of the family unit.
Provide health care management within the guidelines of the Nursing Practice Act, the Medical Practice Act, and other regulatory agencies.
Serve as a role model/clinical resource in all aspects of job performance.
Demonstrate appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and prioritization ability.
Assess own practice needs, as well as those of the healthcare team, and develop methods to meet those needs.
Participate on committees and in research as appropriate.

Requirements

Experience: 1-2 years as a CNM and at least 2 years of nursing experience in labor and delivery

Education: Completion of an MSN and graduate level Certified Nurse-Midwife Program required

License & Certification:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse
Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board
BLS required per policy guidelines

Schedule:

One 24-hour call shift
2 office days per week
