Job Responsibilities
- Perform managerial and leadership functions over professional nursing and support care team in various healthcare consumer care settings
- Apply critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competence to collaborate with the health care team
- Promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes
- Work with the manager to maintain departmental goals and initiatives
- Adhere to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing practice / process and performance
- Utilize and support the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas as a part of daily practice
- Schedule staff and manage staffing needs
- Mentor and recruit nursing staff
- Oversee departmental operations and records management
- Engage in case management and discharge planning
- Ensure patient safety and quality care
- Develop and revise policies
- Promote employee engagement and patient experience
- Support the implementation of organizational initiatives and strategic planning
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Strong understanding of customer service principles
- Ability to promote quality patient-centric care
- Effective communication skills in cross-functional settings
- Knowledge of assessment findings related to disease process and continuum of care
- Proficient in EHR documentation and Office Suite
Preferred Skills
- Experience in PreOp/PACU
- Nursing leadership experience (Charge RN)
Requirements
Experience: 3 years of nursing experience, with Operating Room experience required
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
License & Certification:
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA
- PALS required within 6 months of hire
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA
