Job Responsibilities

  • Support the nurse manager’s implementation of the strategic plan through effective communication.
  • Involved in interviewing, hiring, coaching, and counseling of staff.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with team members, patients, and families based on trust, respect, and inclusion.
  • Uphold Culture of C.A.R.E., creating a culture of connectedness, awareness, respect, and empathy.
  • Inspire and motivate team members by modeling leadership and professional behaviors.
  • Ensure team members utilize best practices that are patient-centered.
  • Be a champion for a just culture where staff feel safe to utilize TeamSTEPPS tools.
  • Support employee engagement for the unit and execute monitor goals and action plans.
  • Demonstrate core clinical competencies for patient population oversight and provide direct care.
  • Act as a professional role model and clinical expert, promoting professional standards.
  • Remain current on knowledge of population health, standards of practice, and healthcare legislation.
  • Support frontline staff inclusion in change forums and projects impacting their practice.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competencies of the business needs for day-to-day operations.
  • Assure day-to-day staffing and resources are planned for the shift of oversight and explain mitigations.

Requirements

Experience: 4-6 years of technical experience, 0-2 years of leadership/management experience.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
  • Specialized certifications as needed
