Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive risk management program in accordance with AK Statutes.
  • Collaborate decision making with leadership regarding patient safety and risk management.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and submit adverse incidents in accordance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the disclosure of an adverse incident and ensure appropriate follow-up with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Analyze patient grievances received in risk management according to AK Statutes.
  • Facilitate Patient Safety Rounds.
  • Provide risk management and patient safety education to entities/departments.
  • Participate in educational and/or developmental opportunities as appropriate.
  • Adhere to appropriate safety procedures and lifting techniques.
  • Stay abreast of industry/clinical risk trends.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Medical Directors, CMO, and SEARHC Corporate Counsel on quality of care and risk management issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards (DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF, etc.).
  • Monitor advancements in technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
  • Assist with accreditation and quality support, including chart audits, clinical reviews, data support.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization; serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for others.
  • Other duties as assigned including cross coverage of other QM Team member roles.

Requirements

Experience: 3 years experience monitoring risk management, patient safety, quality and regulatory requirements, planning, and coordinating process changes.

Education: Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nursing license in Alaska
  • Certified CPHRM within two (2) years
  • Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every 3 years
