Job Responsibilities

Implement and maintain a comprehensive risk management program in accordance with AK Statutes.
Collaborate decision making with leadership regarding patient safety and risk management.
Investigate, evaluate, and submit adverse incidents in accordance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Coordinate and facilitate the disclosure of an adverse incident and ensure appropriate follow-up with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Analyze patient grievances received in risk management according to AK Statutes.
Facilitate Patient Safety Rounds.
Provide risk management and patient safety education to entities/departments.
Participate in educational and/or developmental opportunities as appropriate.
Adhere to appropriate safety procedures and lifting techniques.
Stay abreast of industry/clinical risk trends.
Work closely and collaboratively with Medical Directors, CMO, and SEARHC Corporate Counsel on quality of care and risk management issues.
Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards (DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF, etc.).
Monitor advancements in technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
Assist with accreditation and quality support, including chart audits, clinical reviews, data support.
Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization; serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for others.
Other duties as assigned including cross coverage of other QM Team member roles.

Requirements

Experience: 3 years experience monitoring risk management, patient safety, quality and regulatory requirements, planning, and coordinating process changes.

Education: Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska.
